Christ is risen - a response

Christ is risen!
     Their resurrected body bearing the scars and wounds,
          the parts we might call "disfigurement"
     that proves our Savior is with us.

Christ is risen!
     Their body and being beyond all gender
     and the confines we still impose upon each other.

Christ is risen!
     Their brown body--olive skin and nappy hair--
     the body of God, crucified and yet alive.

Christ is risen!
     Their whole body a resurrected body
     that our whole beings might be risen in praise.

Alleluia!  Thanks be to God!
